Stay Informed
March 12, 2001
On Tuesday, March 6, endtheirs.org
appeared on Mid-day With Mike McConnell on WLW out of
Cincinnati, Ohio and Talk of the Town with Barbara
Bettis on KRDO out of El Paso, Texas.
We set records with these shows.
In the span of only 24 hours we had almost 500 hits on
our website. This
tells us people are listening and people are interested in
what we have to say. It
also tells us a lot more letters are being mailed to the IRS
office in Cincinnati, Ohio.
What is most encouraging, however, is the
number of people who called and offered to help.
As of the writing of this edition of Stay
Informed, we are still processing requests for copies of
the protest letter and literature.
The personal response we received was overwhelming.
Not only were people asking for copies of our letter,
but they were offering to get involved, to do whatever they
could do in their community to help us.
We spent a lot of time on the phone with these people
and we enjoyed every minute spent. Because we knew from
talking with them that they also felt strongly about the
issues we are pressing. You
dont offer your support lightly, not to this organization.
Lets get straight to the point. Many, many Americans are afraid of their government. And,
every one of us understands the awesome power of the IRS.
That is why we dont ask anyone to get more involved
than they are comfortable with.
We understand that people need to work at their own
pace, to decide in their own good time how much they are
willing to commit to this cause, how visible they want to be.
This has been a great week at endtheirs.org.
We talked to truck drivers who tuned in to Talk of
the Town on their way through El Paso. They will be talking about us on their CBs.
One said they would circulate 100 copies of our letter.
Another said they had something interesting to
talk about at night as they drove across the country.
Word is spreading.
We talked to several others who had
organizational support to offer.
One of our callers, a woman with a large family (70
members) spread all across the country, said she would include
our literature in her regular letter to family members.
Her family has a lot of clout.
To put our week in perspective, we had a
total of 82 hits on our website from March 1 through March 5,
2001 and no one calling for copies of our protest letter.
In the 24 hours after our
March 6 interviews we totaled almost 600 hits on our
website and were swamped with phone calls from people who
wanted to send in the protest letter and help spread the word.
We see it working.
We know how it works.
One person hears us on the radio and they talk to 10
other people about us. These
10 people, talk to 10 others.
And, these 10 people each talk to 10 other people.
Word spreads geometrically, like wild fire.
This is why it is so important for us to
get the word out through the media.
We get results.
Finally, we would like to express our
appreciation to everyone that called and everyone that took
the time to visit our website.
Thank you.
This has been our weekly update. Stay tuned for further developments. And, stay informed and stay involved. *
