Stay Informed
February 12, 2001
On February 8, 2001 Donald Iiams was interviewed on WOR, a
nationally-syndicated show out of New York City. In less than 24 hours this 22 minute interview produced over
250 hits on our website and important calls from people across
the country who wanted to help.
Some of our callers already had organizational support
to offer. One
enthusiastic caller said he could arrange for 500 protest
letters to be mailed to the Cincinnati Ohio office of the
Internal Revenue Service.
He inquired whether the IRS had to open all the
letters. The way
he chuckled when he was asked to imagine the IRS processing
just 300,000 protest letters a dayeven if they didnt
open them, but sorted through the mail and dumped them--we
expect 500 letters a day from his people.*
In other news, endtheirs.org,
being mindful of the millions of Americans who believe our
government is too big, takes too much of our money, spends the
money it collects from us recklessly, and intrudes too far
into the personal affairs of the people, has decided to
broaden its base of support.
We are also asking those Americans who believe our
government is doing a poor job of governing to send protest
letters as well. What
better way to protest against big, overbearing government than
to put its collection agency out of business?
We believe the American people will unite on this
important issue. And, they would send a resounding message to Washington and
state and local governments across the board to be more
responsible with the peoples money and more respectful of
the American people. Take less of our money, spend the money we give you wisely
and responsibly, and let us decide personal matters for
ourselves. Our
government simply cant have the power to financially
destroy any of us, to arbitrarily take our power away.
That is why the IRS must go.
In a final note, we continue to be encouraged by the support we are
receiving from across the country.
And, thats your weekly update--as promised.
*We are intentionally vague in reporting on people who
have volunteered assistance out of respect for their privacy.
This is in keeping with our policy of maintaining all
contact information strictly confidential and yet reporting on important updates as they occur.
We know many would hesitate to mail even one protest
letter if they believed the IRS would be able to identify
them. No one
wants the IRS coming to their door.
This is why endtheirs.org
was formed. |
